Which London venues can you get a buggy into?

Ratings from calls made between March and September 2026. Calling has stopped, so these figures are final unless a rating is corrected.

Buggy Smart is a free map of London venues rated for buggy access. An AI voice agent called Poppy phoned cafes, restaurants, pubs and other venues and asked one question: can I get a buggy through the door? The answers went on a map at buggysmart.app, with a short quote from each call.

How it worked

  1. Poppy phoned venues from Google Places lists, area by area, from a UK number.
  2. Every call was recorded and transcribed.
  3. A second AI read each transcript and rated the venue green, amber or red, with a confidence level.
  4. Only venues that gave a clear answer go on the map. Everything else is left off.

What venues said

  • 656 said yes (77% of the map)
  • 96 said yes, with a step or a tight squeeze
  • 99 said no

Venues across 27 London areas. GAIL’s Bakery said yes at 23 of its 26 branches on the map.

Yes rate is the venues that said yes outright, divided by every venue on the map in that area. Only the 13 areas with 20 or more venues are ranked.

What the data can’t tell you

  • It’s a snapshot. Each rating is what staff said on one call, and layouts change.
  • The ratings come from calls made between March and September 2026. Calling has stopped, so ratings aren’t being refreshed.
  • 757 ratings are high confidence and 94 are medium. Treat medium as a first guess.
  • A person answered 1,277 of the 10,000+ calls. The rest reached voicemail, a phone menu or nobody. Of the answered calls, 426 gave no clear answer about buggies, so those venues aren’t on the map.
  • A green rating means the venue said yes to an AI caller. It isn’t a guarantee.
